HISTORY OF THE RATHSKELLER

-Rath” meaning ‘town council’ and “skeller” meaning “cellar”. This Southeastern German/ Bohemiam drinking cellar is a place where the town council would come to “prep” themselves for another session of law making. Our Rathskeller has been in operation since 1758 and our newest interpretation brings back that old-timey  feel of a colonial drinking cellar filled with history but with modern service experience.

Come enjoy the spirits of the past.

The Tavern at the Sun Inn brings together great food, revolutionary spirits and Colonial history to create a unique dining destination for local residents and visitors.
